Grad Day

Tuesday was my grad day, so I am officially done school now. I now have my Bachelor of Science Honours in Genetics to go along with my degree in Fine Arts. I don't really think it will hit me that I am done for good until September. It is hard to believe that I have gone to school for so long and it is a big relief to be done.

The actual grad ceremony was not as long and boring as I had feared and we all went out for sushi later to celebrate. This was one of the first times that my mom had tried sushi. She didn't really like it but she was a good sport.

Takiyaje doll

I just got an email today to inform me that the Takiyaje doll that I commissioned is complete. It looks superb! I am so excited.

Here are the photos that were sent my way. I can't wait to see the doll in person.

Grumble Toy on Etsy

Hi everyone,
I finished setting up an etsy store yesterday. I am hoping that it will help to bring some more exposure to Grumble Toy and to the toys that I make.
The etsy store has some of my handmade plush and some gocco prints.

Chris and I hope to make some more gocco prints soon......
I really love that little machine.
The etsy store can be viewed here.

Ookie

I just finished a few more toys today. These guys are Ookie's.
I am going to make 10 of them in total.
I like the way that their eyes turned out. I painted the backs of clear eyes with purple and silver paint.

Dumbo Octopus Plush

Well here are pictures of the Dumbo Octopus that I made.
I just finished it today and I am pleased with how it turned out.

The eyes are hand-painted with gold paint. They turned out really nice. I had bought some clear acrylic eyes quite awhile ago and this is the first time that I have used them. I painted them with the same v-colour paint that Chris and I use to paint the vinyl toys. It worked really well and hand-painting the eyes gives them extra depth.

Ew Gross

Ugh!
It's snowing again!
Just when I think that spring is finally here, the weather turns. Oh well, it is not actually that much snow.
So I guess I shouldn't complain too much. At least it is not a blizzard.

Octopus Prints

Chris and I were busy making more gocco prints last night. I really love the gocco. It is such a user friendly machine, which is certainly what I require!
The prints we made yesterday depict a dumbo octopus that I drew... we are enormous fans of "Blue Planet".
Right now I am working on making an octopus plush. I will post pictures on the blog if it turns out. So far it is not going so well......but we shall see.

More Tijit

Tijit has put some more shirts up in their etsy shop, so I thought I would share....
I really like their designs and think you will too!
Tijit is a boy/girl duo of our good friends Curtis and Devon.
Here I am modeling one of their tree designs.

This is Devon showing off the bird print that she designed. The bird drawing was inspired by her grandparents' wedding invitation that was originally printed in 1933.
